DOWNTON DELIGHT. The one in which the wanton Mary allows a handsome stranger in her bed who then rolls over ... and dies!
Although the terrible Thomas made advances, the visiting Turkish diplomat Kemal Pamuk turned out to be not gay as evidenced by his lustful searchings and yearnings for Mary Mary late at night in this past Sunday's 3rd excellent episode of the delightful Downton Abbey at 20:30 on BBC Entertainment (DStv 120).
As their unbridled midnight passion burnt and kept them in the throes of extasy, terrible consequences awaited the late night lovers.
Poor Mary Mary. Maybe she was too rough between the sheets with the dashing dude since the foreign dignitary Kemal Pamuk suddenly became Kemal Kaput. Of course Kemal is a big fellow so of course Mary Mary and Annie Anna needed a third to help carry the burden of getting naked man back to his own bed: . . . poor Mi-Maa!
''What happened?'' whisper-asked a shocked shocked Mi-Maa. ''I don't know,'' said a perplexed Mary Mary as the naked man and her no longer alive lover was sprawled out in her Victorian bed. Barbara Cartland stories usually ends with a soft post coital afterglow. Never like this.
This little indiscretion by Mary Mary is still going to have far reaching implications right through to the very end of the second season of Downton Abbey. Oh, Mary Mary. How is Matty Matthew going to react when he finds out? If he ever finds out? And poor Pi-Paa? The scandal and shame would destroy Downton Abbey!
