How about a TV satellite PVR decoder that's 2 Terabytes big; and which records several channel's primetime daily and automatically?

Some news from America's pay television industry that will break tomorrow: Multichannel News is reporting that America's Dish Network, one of the pay TV operators there, will announce tomorrow at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) for 2012 a brand-new and unbelievable PVR decoder, making dizzying functionality possible.

Dish Network, which isn't commenting and is probably furious that the news leaked (aren't they always) is set to announce tomorrow the ''Hopper'': a massive three tuner, 2 Tetrabyte hard drive personal video recorder or DVR, with a 750 MHz processor.

The Hopper will automatically be recording the daily primetime schedule on all of America's biggest TV networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox - basically an automatic and complete ''catch-up'' service that will be called PrimeTime Anytime, according to the article.

Besides the big decoder, the Hopper will come with smaller set top boxes which can be placed in other rooms. A programme watched on one connected screen in a specific room can be paused and someone would be able to continue and resume watching from that point on in another room.
