Programming note: Europe in Crisis live debate on Sky News tonight at 22:00 with Adam Boulton from Brussels.


Sky News (DStv 402) has announced a Europe in Crisis Debate that will take place on the 24 hour British news channel tonight starting at 22:00 (South African time).

The Europe in Crisis Debate will take place live from Brussels anchored by Sky News' political editor Adam Boulton from the European parliament and will look at the financial crisis gripping the euro zone at the moment.

Panelists will include Guy Verhofstadt (former prime minister of Belgium from 1999 to 2008), Sharon Bowles (chairperson of the European parliament's economic and monetary affairs committee), Martin Callanan (head of the Conservative MEP grouping), Pervenche Berès (chairperson of the employment and social affairs committee and the author of the report into the financial crisis of 2008).

By satellite video link from Dublin there will be Michael Martin (former foreign minister now leader of the main opposition), from Rome Raffaele Fanetti (senator with Silvio Berlusconi's party), from Greece Louka Katselli (former national economy minister of Greece as well as a former World Bank economist and Yale professor), from Washington Jose Maria Anzar (the former Spanish prime minister) and from Brussels Nigel Farage (MEP, UKIP leader) and Hans-Gert Pöttering (former president of the European Parliament and longest serving member of the European parliament).
