Disney Junior commissions new show Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh for 2012.


Disney Channels for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA) has commissioned a new preschool series, Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh which will be shown on Disney Junior (DStv 309) in 2012 in South Africa as well as 20 other countries.

Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh has been developed by Disney Channels production hub for the EMEA region and is produced in Wales by Boomerang Plus and Magna Animation Studios in Milan. Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh will have 18 episodes of 5 minutes each. Tracy Bowerman is the series producer with Dirk Campbell as series director.

''Winnie the Pooh is a classic character to bring him and his friends to life for a whole new generation,'' says Beth Gardiner, the vice president of original programming and development at Disney Junior EMEA in a press release.

''At the heart of Disney Junior are fantastic stories that parents and kids can enjoy together. This new series is a perfect example of parents rediscovering this beloved bear of their childhood, and sharing the joy and warmth of these stories with their children,'' she says.
