New minister of communications, Dina Pule, says she's aware of the 'challenges' and all the critical issues at the SABC.

South Africa's new minister of communications, Dina Pule, says she's aware of the ''challenges'' at South Africa's public broadcaster.

In a short statement issued on Friday afternoon by the new minister's office, Dina Pule said that she has noted ''the issues and challenges facing the SABC'' and that she is ''aware of all critical issues that needs to be addressed to assist the public broadcaster to function efficiently''.

The minister said serious issues at the SABC that will need to be resolved includes ''to stabilise its leadership and ensure that all governance matters are adhered to by the SABC board, management and the employees of the SABC''.
