SABC3 created the American comedy timeslot when it uprooted and moved its local soap Isidingo from 18:30 at the beginning of October to 19:30 and littered the 18:30 half hour with American comedies.
In a shocking move SABC3 is immediately disrupting the 18:30 timeslot, dumping 30 Rock, Outsourced and the final episode of Accidentally on Purpose that's all getting ''outsourced'' to other timeslots effective immediately.
SABC3 announced that What I Like About You will now fill the 18:30 timeslot from this Monday, 7 November, and will runs three consecutive nights a week from Mondays until Wednesdays as the broadcaster desperately tries to burn off episodes regardless of whether viewers are going to care to watch multiple nights a week.
30 Rock just got moved to 21:40 on Mondays. Since that is where Nurse Jackie is shown, Nurse Jackie is immediately buried on Friday nights at 21:30. Outsourced is moved from Tuesdays at 18:30 to Thursdays at 20:00. Regular viewers who want to see the final episode of Accidentally on Purpose next week, won't find it next Wednesday at 18:30. Instead Accidentally on Purpose is purposefully on purpose moved to next Thursday at 20:30.
The 6th season of Two and a Half Men will start on Thursday 17 November at 20:30 on SABC3.
The next day, 18 November, SABC3 is planning on having its next quarterly screening, so I will ask the channel about the inexplicable comedy of errors scheduling then and what exactly caused it. One thing is certain and that is that SABC3 will again be losing money. Adverts booked, means that advertisers are no longer getting air-time in specific timeslot for the shows that they were promised it would be and two working days are too few to adjust and change it all.
