''The issues at the SABC are huge; very difficult and very complex,'' says dr Ben Ngubane, the SABC chairperson.
Dr Ben Ngubane was speaking today in parliament to give feedback on the state of the South African public broadcaster and told parliament's portfolio committee on communications that ''a lot of work still remains''.

''I want to say to the advertising industry: Thank you advertising industry for supporting the SABC despite all the problems.'' Dr Ben Ngubane said that ''although there are still huge problems, we are making progress.''
Regarding the SABC's turnaround strategy dr Ben Ngubane told parliament that it's still ongoing but that the SABC has made ''sufficient turnaround in aligning the acquisition of international TV content and the commissioning of local TV content to align with the needs of channels and programming - so that what we put on TV screens is what the viewers want; that it's what the advertising industry wants, so that they can continue to invest their moneys in us with airtime and adtime purchases.''
