THE SOUND OF SILENCE: Not a word from the eNews Channel to the press that it's going with live coverage of the Mogoeng interview.
e.tv and the eNews Channel (DStv 403) is either totally incapable, or don't care, or is unwilling, or simply don't think it important or important enough, to alert press to what the eNews Channel is actually doing.
Continuing the seemingly blaze, apparently uninformed, and frankly pathetic stance of zero alerts or programming updates, the eNews Channel is now broadcasting round two of the Judicial Service's Commission's interview of chief justice-nominee Mogoeng Mogoeng in Cape Town... LIVE!
A very important South African public institution is getting public attention, but it doesn't appear as if the eNews Channel actually wants viewers. MultiChoice's electronic programme guide (EPG) isn't updated (so the specific broadcast isn't recordable) and neither were the press told or alerted that the eNews Channel will go with live coverage.
The local 24 hour news channel from e.tv doesn't seem to have any workable relationship - or modus operandi - with press when it comes to issuing possible programming alerts, breaking news or upcoming special programming. The blatant silence is harmful and damaging to the otherwise great on-screen news service the eNews Channel is trying to deliver.
If you're business is news and showing it as a TV channel, why don't you tell the people about your schedule, your special programming and when you're schedule is going to change and why it's changing?
