New 3rd season of eKasi: Our Stories to start on e.tv on 3 October with 26 new episodes further exploring local township drama.

A third season of e.tv's local drama initiative eKasi: Our Stories will start on the red letter broadcaster on Monday 3 October at 21:00 in which various local production companies get the opportunity to showcase 26 new local township stories.

Eleven of the eKasi: Our Stories dramas will be broadcast this year from 3 October to 12 December, and the remaining 15 episodes will be shown during 2012.

The new season of eKasi: Our Stories was produced in and around different locations in Gauteng, from Soweto and Katlehong, to Alex in partnership with the Gauteng Film Commission and 4 production companies.

''The heart of eKasi stories is the dynamism of township life,'' says Monde Twala, e.tv's group head of channels in a statement. ''It was important for the 3rd season to bring in a fresh, uninhibited young perspective, so, aspiring young filmmakers were roped in. We believe that out of eKasi we can create a strong empowerment platform where strong future filmmakers will emerge.''

The production crew behind the third season of eKasi: Our Stories consist of production companies such as Eclipse TV, headed by Thokozani Nkosi, Bheki Sibiya's Sobabili Productions, Vusi Twala's Seleke Communications and the female duo Makgano Mamabolo and Lodi Matsetela from Puo Pha Productions.

Head scriptwriter Lodi Matsetela oversaw the scripting of all 26 dramas. Actors who will appear include former Rhythm City actor Matli Mohapeloa, Magic Hlatswayo and Putla Sethlapelo.
