BREAKING. No subtitling on SABC2's Pasella entertainment magazine show since SABC didn't sign the contract in time.
You're reading it here first.
I can break the news that there was no subtitling on Pasella, SABC2's weekly Afrikaans entertainment magazine show, and I can reveal that it's because the SABC hasn't signed a contract.
No subtitles appeared in Wednesday evening's Pasella leaving regular viewers who don't understand Afrikaans but watch the top-rated show clueless as to what everyone was saying.
An SABC insider tells TV with Thinus the reason is that SABC management couldn't and didn't sign a contract in time for subtitling to continue. ''Decision making at the SABC is a problem,'' says the insider. ''Bottlenecks are created and exist that seriously damages the SABC on an operational level.''
I've asked both the SABC and SABC2 why Pasella didn't have subtitles yesterday. Neither have responded yet on the media enquiry.
