BREAKING. SABC3 adding The Wendy Williams Show as a new talk show for two days a week from Monday 26 September.
You're reading it here first.
I can exclusively break the news that SABC3 will be adding a talk show with a charismatic black American woman - nope, not Oprah Winfrey but The Wendy Williams Show - that I can reveal SABC3 will be adding from Monday 26 September at 22:00 for initially two episodes per week.
TopTV's BET (TopTV 190) that already has the second season of The Wendy Williams Show on weekdays at 12:00 (repeat at 22:00) will get some competition - actually very directly, since it will be Wendy Williams versus Wendy Williams on BET and on SABC3 on Monday and Tuesday nights initially at 22:00 on both channels from the end of September.
It could be that SABC3 is mulling what will be replacing the timeslot of The Oprah Winfrey Show at the end of December - Three Talk, or The Bold and the Beautiful that will be moving from SABC1 to SABC3, or maybe The Wendy Williams Show.
By adding The Wendy Williams Show with two episodes in late night, SABC3 is forseeably testing viewership response similar to what is happening with Entertainment Tonight which could also expand to a daily weekday show in the future.
