SABC1's Class Act decides to forego a new permanent 3rd judge for the 2nd season; Motshidi Motshegwa to help out Saturday.

I was told yesterday that Motshidi Motshegwa will be the guest judge for the Class Act auditions happening tomorrow (Saturday) at 09:00 at the State Theatre in Pretoria on the second last leg of the nationwide audition process.

After Mfundi Vundla was on board as the new permanent 3rd judge and then dropped the SABC1 reality show (which resulted in a sudden production crisis) Class Act has decided to no longer have a permanent 3rd judge in the second season.

Class Act, produced by Curious Pictures, declined when I asked to reveal the number of people so far who have auditioned in Cape Town and Durban, but notes that ''for both Cape Town and Durban the numbers have doubled compared to last season which is terrific news''.

The show confirmed that there won't be a new permanent 3rd judge and that contestants who make it through the audition phase will still be judged by a revolving door of guest judges who will not be able to track their development but will only be able to judge them on one week's performance. ''Each episode will introduce a new celebrity guest judge drawn from the wide talent pool that the industry has to offer,'' a Class Act spokesperson tells me.
