BREAKING. Here's the names of the 4 people who will most likely become the new SABC board members later this month.

The four new SABC board members that will in all likelihood soon be replacing the four SABC board members who resigned last year will be dr Sethe Patricia Makhesha, executive at Safcol (a consensus nomination), John Sembie Danana, businessman (ANC nomination), advocate Cawekazi Benedicta Mahlati, Gauteng Tourism and former Bop-TV executive (ANC nomination) and Lumko Mtimde, MDDA (ANC nomination).

These four people have been selected by parliament's portfolio committee for communications and will now have their names put forward to parliament to ''accept'' - usually a signed, sealed and delivered ''government stamp'' and seal of approval.

The shocker on the list is Lumko Mtide who is a supporter and promotor of the controversial media tribunal (or so called Media Appeals Tribunal (MAT) that the South African government wants to implement.

These four will be replacing David Niddrie, Barbara Masekela, Felleng Sekha and Makgatho Mello who all resigned last year after bitter in-fighting between the SABC board and the SABC board chairperson dr Ben Ngubane.
