The State of the Nation address of president Jacob Zuma will be carried live next Thursday, 10 February on 3 South African TV channels, SABC2, e.tv as well as the eNews Channel (DStv 403).
On Monday RIGHT HERE I told you that SABC2 will be going live (with schedule changes to their line-up) with the State of the Nation address, and I also asked e.tv about it, who gave an answer by issuing a general press release.
SABC2
State of the Nation address live between 18:00 and 20:30.
7de Laan falls away with 2 episodes of 7de Laan going out the next day, 11 February between 18:00 and 19:00.
e.tv
State of the Nation address live from 19:00. e.tv doesn't mention how long it will stay with this broadcast, but since it's dropping Mad About You at 20:00 as well, its reasonable to assume that it will go at least 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Rhythm City will move 30 minutes earlier and start at 18:00.
Scandal! will move earlier and start at 18:30.
eNews Channel
State of the Nation address live from 19:00.
Nikiwe Bikitsha will be anchoring the news channel's special coverage. eNews special political reporter Hajra Omargee and field reporters Leigh Anne Jansen, Paula Chowles, Philip Owira and Tanya Nefdt will cover the event. The channel will cover the opening of parliament, the president's speech as well as have analysis and reaction from politicians and analysts throughout the day.
