The SABC plans to start broadcasting a new weekly magazine show dedicated to cricket from March just after the conclusion of the Cricket World Cup, the South African public broadcaster says.

On the heels of the announcement by the SABC that the broadcaster has secured the broadcasting rights to the Indian test in December and January, comes the news that a new dedicated cricket show will be launched in 2011. The new show, that will most probably debut on weekends on SABC3, will start around March and will showcase South African cricket on a local and international level.

''We are particularly encouraged by SABC’s willingness to give cricket as much exposure on their various platforms,'' says Gerald Majola, CEO of Cricket South Africa (CSA). ''We have agreed with SABC to launch a weekly magazine show, which will showcase South African cricket.''
