BREAKING. Tiny Virginia Makopo found not guilty on sex assault charges at Oprah Winfrey's girl school; Oprah '' disappointed''.


Tiny Virginia Makopo, a former employee of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls near Henley-on-Klip outside Johannesburg, has been found not guilty of sexually assaulting students. Oprah Winfrey said in a statement she's ''profoundly disappointed at the outcome of the trial''.

Tiny Virginia Makopo faced 14 charges of assault, including the sexual assault of students, at the girl school that Oprah Winfrey built and opened in 2007. Testimony took placed behind closed doors at the Magistrates Court in Sebokeng.

Oprah Winfrey said in a statement she ''will forever be proud of the nine girls who testified with the courage and conviction to be heard.''

''Our entire Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy staff is committed to providing a nurturing educational environment so that all of our girls may continue to flourish. And they are indeed thriving."
