BREAKING. SABC board meets again; preparing to get rid of Solly Mokoetle, busy with report and turnaround strategy for the broadcaster.

You're reading it here first.

For all of those following the real-life soap opera that is the SABC, playing out at the SABC, I can tell you that the SABC board met again yesterday.

With the SABC board getting ready to oust the public broadcaster's suspended group CEO Solly Mokoetle, the board is thoroughly flexing its muscles and getting to work. Although the SABC board describes that the upcoming disciplinary hearing of Solly Mokoetle as ''scrupulously fair'', I can tell you they will throw everything they can at him. And there's lots.

The SABC board lists as its ''immediate priotities'' the completion of the broadcaster's annual report which must be approved at an annual general meeting by the department of communications and tabled in parliament shortly (something the SABC board accuses Solly Mokoetle as well of neglecting). The SABC board also says it has to ''oversee preparation and implementation of a turnaround strategy to enable the SABC to bring to an end to the financial crises that have hounded it for several years''.
