BREAKING. On Digital Media (ODM) passes the 80 000 sales mark for TopTV decoders; shipping 10 000 more this week.

You're reading it here first.

I can exclusively break the news that On Digital Media's (ODM) has passed the 80 000 mark with more than 80 000 TopTV decoders sold. An additional 10 000 TopTV decoders shipped to stores at the end of last week and there will be an additional 10 000 shipped this week.

I can also reveal that ODM now has more than 1 000 TopTV accredited installers working around the clock to do installations, although ODM still doesn't want to disclose how many activated subscribers it has, citing proprietary information concerns. ''We had some TopTV decoders stuck at port because of the Transnet strike and we have been a bit slow in getting it out of there. We're shipping another 10 000 TopTV decoders this week,'' Elouise Kelly, ODM chief marketing officer tells me.

''The installer situation has improved. The installer base has been increased so we're now sitting with over a 1 000 accredited TopTV installers with more teams that can go out and do installations,'' she says. ''Our call centre capacity has been vastly improved. Our call centre answering rate has gone up to 80% where previously it was just above 40%. We're still working to get it u to 95%,'' says Elouise Kelly. ''The lines are working, everything is quicker and most new subscribers get activated on the day of purchase.
