BREAKING. SABC1 set for a massive soccer schedule overhaul in June and July for the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament.
You're reading it here first.
I can exclusively reveal that SABC1 is set to radically transform a massive chunk of its daily line-up and programme schedule from mid June until mid July to focus on the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament.
Although SABC1 has not uttered a word about it, and I've told you RIGHT HERE earlier today about the channel's major plans to move The Bold & the Beautiful and Generations to new daily timeslots, there's even more major TV schedule changes planned.
Good Morning Mzansi that SABC1 tested out last year and earlier this year will return daily as a weekday, live studio morning show programme with a heavy emphasis on the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament from Monday, June 7 at 06:00. The live show will incorporate traffic reports as well as news about the matches and players all across the country, updates on stadiums, fan parks and general soccer news. Every day will also incorporate Good Evening Mzansi during the evening line-up on SABC1 on weekdays from Friday, June 11 at 22:30, which will be a night time version of the breakfast show. Good Evening Mzansi will highlight the games played during the day, try for interviews with players, have news about upcoming matches, game analysis and profile stories.
Another brand new SABC1 show is Soccer 411 that will be broadcast just before every match. SABC1 also plans a soccer review show, My 2010, my PVA, as well as a game show entitled Quiz.me 2010. Countdown 2010 will also continue right through June and July on Tuesdays at 18:30 on SABC1 as Final Countdown 2010. There's also Road to the World Cup, another magazine show. All of these new show additions will be heaven for soccer fans although non sport fans and regular viewers have to prepare themselves for massive SABC1 TV schedule disruption.
