BREAKING. Nominations for 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards announced: No South African broadcaster plans to show the awards ceremony.
The nominations for the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards has been announced for the ceremony taking place on June 27 this year in Las Vegas.
Once again there's no sign of any South African broadcaster willing to show the 37th Anual Daytime Emmy Awards although all of their broadcast schedules are absolutely stuffed full of all of the shows nominated. Also, neither the SABC, e.tv or M-Net seem to get that that staple on their daily morning, afternoon and early evening TV schedules means that when there's an award show celebrating them, those same viewers who are tuning in to watch your daily soaps and talk shows, are going to be tuning in en masse to see their stars.
Nominated for best soap are The Bold & the Beautiful (SABC1), All My Children (SABC3) and The Young & the Restless (e.tv). Michelle Stafford of The Young & the Restless (e.tv) and Bobbie Eakes for All My Children (SABC3) are up for best actress and Peter Bergman and Doug Davidson of The Young & the Restless (e.tv) and James Scott of Days of Our Lives (SABC3) are up for best actor. The Young & the Restless (e.tv) got a whopping 16 nominations in total. The Ellen DeGeneres Show on M-Net Series (DStv 110), Dr. Phil (SABC2), The Doctors on M-Net Series (DStv 110) and all the girls from The View (SABC3) have all been nominated in talk show categories.
