BREAKING. SABC3 schedule won't change much because of Soccer World Cup, focus remain on entertainment.

You're reading it here first.

SABC3's TV schedule for June and July when the Soccer World Cup kicks off in South Africa won't change much with minimal disruption to TV viewers.

''The SABC3 schedule is not going to change that much,'' Buli Siwani, SABC3's acting marketing manager tells me. ''Because we are the lifestyle channel of the SABC our main focus will be, and remain, on entertainment during the Soccer World Cup in June and July,'' she says.

''We are going to have some football related inserts in our programming but it will be like 3Talk with Noeleen who is now having Football Fridays. Soon Top Billing will also be talking about football and do inserts on what it is that South Africa can offer in terms of lifestyle options for visitors - so that when they switch on their TV sets they can see that we're actually not a third world country but a wonderful mix. We're going to stay pretty much the same schedule wise as SABC3 is now.''
