I can exclusively break the news that Survivor SA Santa Carolina director Donald Clarke is having an excited, stress-filled, wild rollercoaster ride of a day for the 90 minute live finale of the reality show that's starting tonight at 19:30 on M-Net. Not just because the live finale is the culmination of all of his work since the last few months of last year - but also because it's the due date of his baby girl!
Donald Clarke who is directing the live finale at 19:30 from Studio 6 in Randburg at M-Net's studios, is also set to become a dad today of a brand-new baby girl, Jamie. By a complete co-incidence, the due date of the father-to-be's wife is exactly the same as the live finale of Survivor SA Santa Carolina.
The last time I had dinner together with both Donald Clarke and his sweet wife was last year in Durban at the CNN MultiChoice Journalist of the Year Awards. All I can tell you is they will have a beautiful baby. ''My baby is due on the exact finale night,'' Donald Clarke tells me. ''So if you or anybody sees me running around, that's why.'' He even jokes a bit by saying: ''If it's at 19:30, my wife needs to wait.''
