BREAKING. Idols auditions tops 1 400 contestants in Cape Town . . . and counting.

You're reading it here first.

I can bring you the first news from the official starting day of the audition process of the 6th season of Idols and tell you that the new season of the M-Net reality show has so far processed over 1 400 contestants in Cape Town . . . and counting.

A huge number of fame seekers turned out for the new season of Idols which will continue to have nationwide auditions during May in the rest of the country. The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) was overwhelmed by contestants who queued since very early the morning at entrance 5 for Idols, although the doors only opened at 08:00.

I just came back from today's audition day where a massive amount of people are still patiently waiting, sitting and standing to register and be processed, get their number and wait again just for their chance to get their moment to sing.

The Idols co-hosts Liezel van der Westhuizen, this season joined by ProVerb, started off the day very early, recording various links and inserts all day long.
