CONFIRMED! M-Net moving All Access to Fridays from April.
You're reading it here first.
It was exactly a week ago RIGHT HERE that I broke the news that M-Net will likely be moving All Access from Thursdays to Fridays from April. M-Net just confirmed the news.
Several sources outside M-Net told me that this is on the cards a while ago. Now this great weekly entertainment magazine show by Homebrew Films with the best set in the biz, will not have to compete with SABC3's similar show, competitor and ratings-juggernaut Top Billing anymore. When e.tv moved it's primetime soap opera Scandal! out fo the way of the similar Generations, both shows won and flourished by not forcing viewers to choose.
''M-Net is in the process of tightening its entire weekly schedule, and part of that is the beefing up of Friday night entertainment,'' says Pierre Cloete, M-Net channel manager.
''We feel that there is the perfect gap for a show like All Access on a Friday night, as the content of the show ties into the emotion and sentiment of a viewer about to embark on their weekend. One can watch an All Access hot spot insert and then literally go out to that restaurant the same night.''
Cloete says the original Friday afternoon repeat slot of All Access gets positive viewership, that suggests that All Access on a Friday night will do well.
