BREAKING. CNBC Africa not live at parliament today.

You're reading it here first.

CNBC Africa (DStv 410) will not be covering this evening's first ever evening opening of parliament LIVE but will have a presence there and will do cut-aways as deemed necessary.

''We will be there but we're not interrupting normal programming,'' Jill de Villiers, director: programming at CNBC Africa tells me. ''We will have a little squeeze back window on the State of the Nation address, and will zoom in on some important points made by the president,'' she says.

CNBC Africa's Cape Town reporter Talia Sanhewe will be at parliament later today and compile inserts for Business AM on Friday morning and the Business Spotlight show over the weekend.
