Wizards of Waverly Place - The Movie does well for The Disney Channel.

You're reading it here first. There's not just magic in the Stone of Dreams - those kids from Waverly created some serious magic for Disney too.

The made-for-TV movie, Wizards of Waverly Place - The Movie with Selena Gomez that was broadcast on The Disney Channel (DStv 303) on Saturday 31 October, has become the kids satellite channel's biggest movie premiere in the last two years, ahead of Camp Rock.

The broadcast attracted 283 000 viewers. It was the most popular thing to watch for kids in that timeslot across all channels. Wizards of Waverly Place - The Movie was The Disney Channel's 77th original made-for-TV movie.
