BREAKING. Nico Panagio is the new host of Survivor SA. And more scoop!

You're reading it here first. Nico Panagio, Top Billing presenter is the new host of Survivor SA on M-Net.

M-Net describes him as a ''solid, calming presence''.

I found out last week that Nico has been the final choice to replace Mark Bayly who hosted the first two seasons of the local version but is now the face of M-Net's All Access entertainment show. Someone else who made the shortlist but fell out was Doug Bird who was also almost a Top Billing presenter and ended 3rd in the Men's Health Look 2006 competition. M-Net was looking for a more ''older and mature TV face'' which is why Doug lost out.

Here's some other hot and EXCLUSIVE Survivor SA scoop I've dug up:
*The show starts filming in Mozambique on 13 November.
*Currently Endemol SA which will be producing Survivor SA plans on having an equal number of men and women in the show.
*Every celebrity will win money (supposed to be given to charity), depending on the duration of their stay on the island.
*Singer Lira told me she would ''never enter, it's too rough'' but other local celebs FLOCKED to be in the show.
*I have it on good authority that some of the contestants include ''beauty queen type'' beautiful people  -GUYS and GIRLS. ''Some are stunning. Not everyone is A list celebrities but some of them are simply beautiful creatures,'' says a source.
*Another source told me about ''incredible twists''. ''It's not going to be the usual Survivor SA, they're shaking things up a bit''.
I KNOW SOOOO MUCH MORE ON THE PLANNED TWISTS BUT KEEP CHECKING BACK, I don't want to spill everything now yet, but will in due course.

*Viewer interaction will be big  -from the beginning, to right at the very end. TRUST ME.
*AWESOME challenges, people! Awesome. I know more but i can't spill. Yet.
*Big surprise when the contestants arrive. Know more, but I can't spill yet.

Oh. I asked M-Net about Mozambique.

''To ensure that everybody keeps to the rules of the game and the contestants don't know what awaits them, M-Net will reveal very little information about Survivor SA in the upcoming weeks,'' says Lani Lombard, M-Net head of publicity.
