RSVP'ed. I will be attending this year's Channel O Music Video Awards 2009 which was once a huge mess. It has now become in my estimation the BEST red carpet awards event in South Africa and that's no mean feat.It was unbelievably well organized last year. It had the BEST red carpet layout, best press access and roll-through for the undustry, high profile schlebrities who actually pitched, the BEST table and seating arrangement, great stage design (incorporating what once made MTV great), seamless dinner service while the function was going on and easy access for press everywhere.
All in all astounding. It felt very much like what the Golden Globes must feel like. All red carpets are hard work, although it might not like that. The Channel O Music Video Awards 2008 organizers surprised the media with a really functional, organized and jacked up behind the scenes event.
The Channel O Video Music Awards 2009 is recorded live and takes place on Thursday 29 October 2009.
It would be a pleasure to be there again this year.
