BREAKING.

You're reading it here first. E.tv is set to battle Icasa (Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) in court next Tuesday on 15 September regarding Icasa's final regulations governing South Africa's digital migration process for television.

In update to my breaking story earlier today, I just got a response from e.tv.

What happened is that Icasa has issued an UPDATED VERSION of the regulations, addressing, amending and clouding in jargon and vague language some of the issues that e.tv is taking Icasa to court for.

I wanted to know from e.tv whether the broadcaster will still be going ahead with legal action and the urgent interdict which could put a spoke in the wheel of the complete DTT process.

E.tv just told me the broadcaster is still studying the amended regulations.
''It would be premature to comment on our court application until we have had the opportunity to consider the amended regulations.''
