BBC Worldwide chairman stepping down

Etienne de Villiers, a South African, is stepping down as the chairman of BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, after almost three years in the role.

He will be leaving BBC Worldwide at the end of this month. No reason has been given.

Etienne became chairperson of BBC Worldwide in September 2005 after he was president of Walt Disney TV International for the so-called ''EMEA'' region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
