The American medical drama series The Resident with Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp seen on FOX (DStv 125 / StarSat 131) has been renewed for a 4th season while the comedy series Last Man Standing with Tim Allen seen on M-Net (DStv 101) has been renewed for a 9th season.

Because of the Covid-19 coronavirus that shut down Hollywood the third season of The Resident was cut short with 3 episodes and the 8th season of Last Man Standing was cut short by one episode.

Both The Resident and Last Man Standing are produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

"The Resident and Last Man Standing are such important parts of FOX and we're so pleased they will be returning next season," says Michael Thorn, FOX Entertainment president, in a statement.

"We want to thank all of the writers, actors, directors, producers and talented crews for both of these shows, and, of course, our friends and producing partners at 20th Century Fox Television."
