Bold move from SABC1 to SABC3 for June postponed a second time due to a lack of replacement content on SABC1.

The SABC's plan to move the weekday American soap The Bold and the Beautiful from SABC1 to SABC3   from June - news TV with Thinus broke earlier this month RIGHT HERE has been postponed for a second time after a first attempt a year ago, because SABC1 doesn't have replacement content ready in the place of the timeslot to be vacated by the soap.

The SABC and SABC1 and SABC3 are all still adamant to move the daytime soap from channel to channel,  but is no longer able to implement the change come June. Last year SABC1 didn't work fast enough when the switch was planned to take place; now sources tell me SABC1 doesn't have replacement content ready to fill the five gaps which would have been left of The Bold and the Beautiful moved to SABC3 from June.

"We will have to wait and see what the decision will finally be, but it's not happening from June," one insider familiar with the matter told me about the long-gestating Bold move to join the other American soap Days of Our Lives which is already on SABC3.

SABC1's then channel head Leo Manne first briefed and told journalist, advertisers and ad buyers about the channel's plan to move The Bold and the Beautiful from SABC1 to SABC3 in April 2011. The first real attempt only almost came to fruition in August 2012 but was called off, and now the second attempt for June will no longer materialise for that month.

Although the intent for Bold to move is still intact, June for a Bold move I'm told is no longer happening.
