Programming note: CNN International goes 'America's Choice 2012: Election Day in America' Tuesday from 23:00 for 18 hours of coverage.


CNN International (DStv 401) will start "America's Choice 2012: Election Day in America'" on Tuesday night at 23:00 (South African time) with CNN's first ever election night coverage anchored from Washington where the 24-hour news network recently unveiled its new state-of-the-art studio and control room.

CNN International as a massive 18 hours - from 23:00 on Tuesday night until 17:00 on Wednesday afternoon devoted to the American presidential election, "America's Choice 2012: Election Day in America" will span across this entire time preempting other programming blocks, with more than two dozen TV reporters across America.

CNN anchors Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper from Washington, with Candy Crowley from Boston and Erin Burnett from Ohio will lead CNN's election coverage.

National political reporter Jim Acosta will be in Boston at the Romney campaign headquarters while the White House correspondents Jessica Yellin, Dan Lothian and Brianna Keilar will be live from the Obama headquarters in Chicago. The chief national correspondent John King will be at the Magic Wall to provide analysis of CNN's projections and to explain closely contested voting districts.

On Tuesday night before America's Choice 2012: Election Day in America starts, Christiane Amanpour will anchor a live US election edition of Amanpour.
