Programming note: The 3rd season of Pair of Kings starts on Saturday 13 October at 09:20 on Disney XD on DStv - watch the massive twist!
The third season of Pair of Kings starts on Saturday 13 October (tomorrow) on Disney XD (DStv 304) at 09:20 (South African time) and Disney does it properly and correctly for South African viewers: with a wonderful double-bill of the first two episodes together, since it's the season opener after all and also one story.
Pair of Kings's 3rd season opener entitled "The New King: Part One - Destiny's Child" is on Saturday at 09:20, followed by "The New King: Part Two - The Bro-fessor and Mary Ann" at 09:45. After this Saturday, there will be one new episode of the 3rd season of Pair of Kings shown on Disney XD in South Africa every Saturday at 09:45, with a repeat on Sundays at 09:45.
This 3rd season and this season opener is noteworthy of course since Mitchel Musso who played Brady has of course been dumped from the show (and he also sang the theme song).
So there is the awkwardness of having to write a character out in some way, without having the real character make an appearance, and then somehow coming up with a story idea which is not too far-fetched, and then hoping that the new dynamic between established characters and the new character work.
Actor Adam Hicks join the cast of Pair of Kings in this third season of this Disney teen drama (although, I can admit that as an adult I like and watch this show and thought this to be the best show on the channel when I saw the teaser trailers when Disney XD launched as a channel last year and showcased all the individual shows).
Also cool is how quickly Disney scheduled the 3rd season of Pair of Kings for Disney XD in South Africa. It only started in June and is at episode 15, so South Africa is only about three months' worth of episodes behind.
I won't spoil the narrative and the surprising twists of how Mitchel Musso and the character of Brady is written out of Pair of Kings, but Adam Hicks will be revealed to be Boz, the "lost" triplet brother of the two.
