BBC World News will soon switch to new state-of-the-art studios in the new Broadcasting House as digital news operations and weather are integrated.

BBC World News (DStv 400 / TopTV 400) will soon broadcast from new state-of-the art studios in the new Broadcasting House.

The British Broadcasting Corporation's commercially-funded TV and digital news operations are coming together for the first time in the BBC's international news portfolio.

Jim Egan has been appointed as the chief operating officer of the newly created BBC Global News Ltd, which will merge the BBC's commercially funded bbc.com/news and BBC World News services which has previously been operated as separate businesses. BBC Global News Ltd will also oversee the weather and sport areas of bbc.com.

Jim Egan will run the business alongside Richard Porter, controller of English for BBC Global News, who takes editorial responsibility.
