SABC1 kept showing the same episode of The Bold and the Beautiful over and over this week, until an new episode of The Bold and the Beautiful was eventually shown on Thursday evening.
TV with Thinus was inundated by a flood of complaints of angry viewers - as far away as Swaziland - wanting to know why they are watching the same episode of The Bold and the Beautiful for the third time.
"How many times do we have to watch this same Bold and the Beautiful episode? Three times now?" asked an irate viewer Faith Zungu.
"Someone is not doing their job, although we pay our TV licence regularly; which pays their salary!" said Rita Dawson-Basson.
"Incompetence all the way," said Ramadimetja Seleme. "SABC1 with repeats ... you guys keep repeating Bold and the Beautiful. Really not impressed," said Eyasembheleni Ntuli.
"What's wrong with you SABC1? How many times must we watch this same episode of The Bold and the Beautiful?" asked Patience Nkomo.
"Why do you repeat the same episode of Bold three times?" asked Meisie Pitse on SABC1's Facebook page. Neither she nor any other viewer got an answer.
SABC1 moved The Bold and the Beautiful in October 2011 from 18:00 to 18:30 but the experiment was such a huge failure and prompted such a large viewer outcry that SABC1 was forced to move The Bold and the Beautiful back 6 months later in April 2012 to its original 18:00 timeslot.
SABC1 enlisted members of the Bold cast to help explain in on-air promos that the soap is moving back to its original timeslot and that the broadcaster is putting the show on at 18:00 after complaints.
SABC1 is currently showing Why Are We So Angry? which is an apt title for how loyal viewers of SABC1 and The Bold and the Beautiful are feeling after the total disregard the broadcaster has been showing this week.
