BREAKING. SABC3 on Top Billing's latest timeslot change: 'Top Billing is a perennial treasure; will be around on SABC3 for a long, long time.'

You're reading it here first.

SABC3's sees Top Billing as ''a' treasure'' and thinks that moving the show half an hour later from October, to Tuesdays at 20:00 will benefit the show viewership ratings wise.

The popular, decades old, weekly glam entertainment magazine show which is a solid performer buzz and viewership ratings wise irrespective of where it's placed on the schedule (and it's been almost everywhere), is expected to show a viewership increase when the Tswelopele Productions show moves to 20:00 on Tuesdays from October.

Last month I exclusively broke the news RIGHT HERE that Top Billing is moving timeslots again from October to 20:00 on Tuesdays - half an hour later than the current 19:30.

''Top Billing is a perrenial treasure for us. Top Billing will be around on SABC3 for a long, long time to come,'' says Lefa Afrika, SABC3 programming manager when I asked him what went into the thinking of moving Top Billing's timeslot yet again.

''This time around the Top Billing timeslot change was due to the Isidingo shift to 19:30 from October. That has had an effect on the entire primetime schedule. But we believe it enhances the value of all our properties in primetime and leading into those shows like Top Billing.''

''It brings a bigger lead-in audience to the shows coming after. We expect that Top Billing will actually benefit. The hope is that Isidingo moved later at 19:30 will do better viewership wise, and that it in turn will provide a very nice lead-in to the shows like Top Billing following later,'' says Lefa Afrika.
