BREAKING. Mzansi Magic to change its channel logo and on-air look with its 1st birthday on 12 July; acquires rights to Miss South Africa 2011.
You're reading it here first.
I can reveal that the Mzansi Magic (DStv 107) channel will be changing its logo as well as its on-air look on Tuesday 12 July when the channel aimed at black South African viewers turns one year old on this day, a week from now.
The channel confirms to TV with Thinus that the current Mzansi Magic channel logo will be changing. Is this Mzansi Magic logo on the right, possibly the new logo of Mzansi Magic which has already been used since early June in several official places? It has a more skewed ''M'' in a more three dimensional style, with the ''M'' jumping to the left, and containing a slight sharp shadow. (The ''old'' or current Mzansi Magic logo is below, to compare.)
There's also been no official announcement by Mzansi Magic but the channel has secured the broadcasting rights to Miss South Africa 2011 for a second year in a row from Sun International.
The pageant will take place on Saturday 11 December at the Sun City Superbowl and will be shown on Mzansi Magic. It's conceivable that in the lead-up to the pageant broadcast the channel will feature additional programming such as profiles or other content related to the show as well as a red carpet pre-show again, although Mzansi Magic hasn't yet said anything regarding acquiring the broadcasting rights for a second time or planned auxiliary Miss South Africa 2011 programming.
