BRIGHTEST DAY. Green Lantern The Animated Series coming to The Cartoon Network; set to start early 2012 in South Africa.

If you liked the animation movie Green Lantern First Flight (showing on M-Net) get ready for a follow-up film Green Lantern Emerald Knights just released in America and a brand-new animation TV show based on the green wonder entitled Green Lantern: The Animated Series.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series will start in November in America on The Cartoon Network (DStv 301) and will definitely be seen in South Africa on this channel roughly six months later in 2012. The live action feature film Green Lantern - Rise of the Manhunters with Ryan Reynolds is opening this weekend in America (on 22 June in South Africa) but it's actually part of a much bigger restart of the fabled superhero franchise by Warner Bros.

Green Lantern The Animated Series will be similar to what's been done with Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series and will have a first season of 26 episodes and is executive produced by Bruce Timm. Green Lantern: The Animated Series will still have an angular, retro visual style but the animation will be computer generated and be somewhat more 3D (similar in look and feel to The Incredibles).
