BREAKING. SABC tells government it will lose at least R400 million per year if a ban on alcoholic adverts should come into effect.

The SABC told the South African government in parliament today that should proposed new legislation banning alcohol adverts come into effect and become actual law, that the public broadcaster will lose to the tune of at least R400 million per year in advertising income and revenue.

The South African government is mulling proposals calling for a ban on all alcoholic advertising, similar to what the government has done to once prolific tobacco advertising years ago.
