BBC World News (DStv 400 / TopTV 400) will broadcast the Royal Wedding on 29 April live but is planning numerous additional shows and thematic programming for the wedding week ''bringing viewers all the details about the wedding and the arrangements right up until the last minute before it happens''.
Witness will have 5 special shows starting in the Royal Wedding week and will be talking to people who lived through moments of royal history. The programme will offer a unique perspective of a historical event, which may serve to change the audiences opinion of what really happened. Proposed episode titles include ''Grace Kelly - Hollywood and royalty'' and ''Phillip and Isabella - The ultimate power couple''.
The Forum will bring together three innovative thinkers from different cultures and perspectives to discuss new ideas. This will be a specially produced version for TV on the theme of marriage and monarchy.
Extreme Weddings, part of the 'Extreme World' series currently running across the BBC's platforms will be taking a look at the contrasting extremes in weddings across the globe.
The BBC World News also plans Royal Wedding Update ''modules'' - 3 minute '''inside story'' and ''best of the news coverage'', pulled together by a regular presenter that will will run across the weekday schedule in the run up to wedding. The Royal Wedding Weekly Update will be half hour updates with video reports and some panel discussion in the weeks leading up to the event.
Monarchies from Around the World will be special 15 minute programmes on monarchies from different parts of the globe and there will be the live 29 April Royal Wedding coverage followed by special programming and highlights.
