Although the best TV series will definitely remain on the M-Net channel (DStv 101) the pay broadcaster says it will be beefing up the primetime programming line-up of the M-Net Series (DStv 110) channel in future and that it has big plans to turn M-Net Action (DStv 106) into a ''fully-fledged'' action movie channel.
''A lot of people are still under the mistaken impression that M-Net Series is a repeat channel. It's not,'' says
Lani Lombard, M-Net's communications manager. ''M-Net Series will have more and more great primetime content in future as well. At M-Net we buy so many programmes from the international distributors it's often difficult to find space to get all of that shows on the M-Net channel. That's why we have the dedicated M-Net Series channel. The really big and massive series programmes like
Desperate Housewives will remain on the main M-Net channel,'' she says.
Talking about M-Net Action (DStv 106)
Lani Lombard says all the series on the channel will be moving to M-Net Series over time. ''M-Net Action will turn into an action movie channel. Again, it will be a gradual move.''
