FIRST LOOK! Where's Waldo? A heap of hopefuls show up as the 7th season of Idols kick off with auditions in Cape Town.

Lemmings, swallows; the wildebeest crossing the Serengeti. Mankind has their own mass migration and its known as Idols.

The 7th season of the reality show on M-Net kicked off today in Cape Town when the national audition process opened with several hundreds of hopeful contestants who camed out and slept on the pavement outside the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) yesterday in order to get a place close to the front of the insanely big queue today. I'm told that the massive queue of wannabee singers is snaking around the building as contestants are waiting for their moment to impress (or not).

Two out of the hundreds are Jacque Roux and Matt Oosthuizen (below) who met at 04:30 this morning as they awaited their chance to impress the Idols panel at the CTICC. With previous attempts being unsuccessful, both have prepared new songs which they believe will propel them into the limelight offered by the 7th season of the show.
