BREAKING. M-Net on the upcoming new 7th season of Idols in 2011: ''We want to make it a little bit more closer to American Idol.''

You're reading it here first.

Last night as I sat in the live studio audience of the Idols final Results Show I was first RIGHT HERE to bring the news that M-Net announced a new seventh season for 2011 of the reality show, and now I have more.

''The process that starts now is basically for nationwide auditions and getting the public thinking about the next Idols,'' says Pierre Cloete, M-Net's channel head. ''We want to keep the momentum going and it's very important for viewers to feel that momentum. We had the latest season of American Idol on M-Net at the same time, so a seventh season of Idols is a perfect opportunity for us.''

''We want to make the new season of Idols next year a little bit more closer to American Idol,'' says Pierre Cloete ''and that's the reason we're bringing Idols back early so that it flows off nicely from the one to the other and we have this big hype going through.''
