BREAKING. Pep Stores have already been selling the new batch of TopTV decoders today.

You're reading it here first.

Although the new batch of TopTV decoders are only going on sale on Thursday, Pep Stores are already in stock again and have been selling On Digital Media (ODM)'s new TopTV decoders today.

Sources at Pep (which is one of the retail chains that stocked and sold TopTV decoders on Saturday) tells me they have TopTV decoders and are selling them. I didn't report this yet but a few lucky people actually did get TopTV decoders before Saturday - and guess! - it was also from Pep. Pep Stores sold a few decoders (although they were not supposed, as I told you RIGHT HERE) to customers before Saturday who were very insistent on getting a TopTV set top box (STB). Customers still had to wait until Saturday however, because they needed the TopTV customer care centre at 08600 86788 to activate their installation voucher. That number only went into operation on Saturday, and quickly got flooded by more than a 1 000 calls per hour.

I was first to break the news on Saturday evening RIGHT HERE that all 50 000 TopTV decoders sold out during the day, then I was first RIGHT HERE with the news that the quickest people would be able to get one would be Thursday, when On Digital Media will make another, between 20 000 and 30 000 TopTV decoders available in stores across South Africa (Makro, Pep, Game, Jumbo Cash & Carry, House & Home, CCW, Brown's).

It seems that Pep is one of the better stores egared towards TopTV decoder sales. Last week when I spoke to Vino Govender, CEO of ODM, he said that it was Pep Stores who told him that their customers were clamouring for TopTV decoders and that they politely had to tell them to return on Saturday.
