BREAKING. On Digital Media (ODM) urgent court interdict against Super 5 Media dismissed.

The urgent interdict that On Digital Media (ODM) has brought against Super 5 Media which you can read about HERE has been dismissed by the South Gauteng High Court.

ODM which wants to start its satellite pay TV service in April, brought an urgent court interdict against competitor Super 5 Media (formerly Telkom Media), because ODM claimed that Super 5 Media's change in shareholder agreement violated what Super 5 Media originally told the Independent Communication Authority of South Africa (Icasa) when the pay TV licence presentations took place.

Super 5 Media can now continue working on its pay TV platform.

I can bring you the VERY FIRST exit interview with Survivor SA Santa Carolina celeb contestant Craig Jacobs who got voted out after he seemed to irritate his fellow tribemates too much by losing the fish hook, eating too much chips and criticizing the choice of contestants after the immunity challenge  in the third episode of the M-Net reality show earlier this evening.

When I spoke with him, I found out what was the hardest part of it all for him, who he felt didn't contribute, and what he would have done differently. Craig told me why he felt guilty about Chibudu shedding members, when he realized that he was getting voted out and why he got the chop.

BREAKING. M-Net no longer planning a TV channel to cover the Cape Town Carnival.

I can exclusively first reveal that M-Net has done a BIG about turn and that M-Net will NO LONGER be having a dedicated TV channel devoted to the upcoming Cape Town Carnival, set to happen in March.

M-Net went big with the news in September last year that the broadcaster would go big with the event and be the official media sponsor of the Cape Town Carnival in the lead-up to the event that is set to kick off on 18 March 2010. M-Net promised ''a dedicated channel on DStv that will cover the parade on 20 March 2010, as well as advertising airtime on all M-Net channels to promote the Carnival''.

The Cape Town Carnival is suffering. Several people organizing it has resigned, the number of ;large floats have been reduced from 25 to just one, director and producer Rchard Loring has also withdrawn from the event as creative director, less people will take part in the parade and the Cape Town Carnival has struggled to find sponsors.

I have asked, and when I hear from M-Net as to why the broadcaster decided to no longer set-up this specific channel for the Cape Town Carnival, I will have that information right here.

BREAKING. Nonhle Thema no longer has time for O Access.

I can be first to reveal that longtime Channel O VJ Nonhle Thema is cutting back and dropping O Access on Channel O (DStv 320) as host and presenter.

Nonhle Thema now the presenter of the daily entertainment news show V Entertainment on Vuzu (DStv 123) and the face of Dark & Lovely is done with Channel O (DStv 320) and the music channel's music star interview show O Access to focus on her new presenting duties.

''I feel it's time for me to grow and move on, whilst creating other phenomenal shows for my new family, Vuzu. I look forward to the new journey ahead,'' Nonhle Thema said in a statement.

No word from Channel O yet on who will be replacing Nonhle Thema on O Access.

BREAKING. e.tv to air exclusive Nelson Mandela doccie, First Walk to Freedom.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of Nelson Mandela from the Victor Verster prison, e.tv is set to air an exclusive documentary, entitled First Step to Freedom, next Wednesday evening, 10 February at 20:00.

It will then be exactly 20 years ago that Nelson Mandela walked free on 11 February, 1990 while the world's media jostled for position to broadcast the event live just outside the Victor Verster prison. Director and cameraman Craig Matthew captured the historical moment and now, in First Step to Freedom, he will show never-before-seen footage of the day for the first time.

In First Step to Freedom viewers will be able to see all the preparations that was involved pre-release and viewers will also get to hear in Nelson Mandela's own words how it felt to have his first taste of freedom after being imprisoned for 27 years. Then-president, F.W. de Klerk also features in the doccie.

BREAKING. eNews Channel will cover opening of parliament, state of the nation address live.

I asked this morning and now I can exclusively first reveal that the eNews Channel (DStv 403) will cover next Thursday's first ever evening Opening of Parliament LIVE on 11 February 2010, as well as broadcasting the State of the Nation address by president Jacob Zuma LIVE from parliament as well.

News anchors Andrew Barnes and Nikiwe Bikitsha will start to cover the official opening of parliament for 2010 live from 17:00 on the eNews Channel (DStv 403) including the pomp and fashions, the speech at 19:00 and analysis thereafter. e.tv's eNews Prime Time will also broadcast the opening of parliament and the speech live from 18:30.

eNews reporters Belinda Moses, Hajra Omarjee and Lester Kiewit will be on the scene as well.

On e.tv Rhythm City will move earlier to 18:00 and Thursday 11 February's episode of Scandal! will be canned and move over to Friday 12 February.

I can exclusively first break the news that SABC2 has acquired the broadcasting rights for Chuck.

The first season of Chuck will be broadcast from Thursday, 25 March at 19:30 on SABC2 for 13 episodes in the 1st season. The wonderful geek-chic show follows the adventures of Chuck (Zachary Levi), a computer whiz nerd who's brain gets downloaded with the complete CIA computer archive (see how) and then becomes a reluctant spy for them (and the world's greatest secret agent).

I have a press release from the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) announcing that talk show host Oprah Winfrey will star in a brand-new reality show, Behind the Scenes: Oprah's 25th Season set to air next year in 2011 and I can tell you exclusively first that SABC3 wants it.

''Behind the Scenes: Oprah's 25th Season will offer viewers unprecedented access to Harpo, capturing the anticipation and excitement of the beloved show in its last season,'' says OWN in a just-released press statement. ''Viewers will be given a unique glimpse into the lives of the staff and the happenings between a special group of people who over decades have truly become a family.''

''This series will explore this rare collection of people by following a core cast of regulars from various departments as they work and navigate the last days of the show. With Behind the Scenes: Oprah's 25th Season, viewers will see television history being made. Throughout the series, Oprah will share her perspective and personal reflections on what has become a cultural phenomenon.''

"For the first time ever, viewers will get to see behind the curtains of The Oprah Winfrey Show," says Christina Norman, OWN's chief executive officer. "Behind the Scenes: Oprah's 25th Season will document what will be the most amazing season, yet."

SABC3 is aware of this new reality show at highest level, I can reveal. Inside sources at SABC3 tells me that the broadcaster will ''definitely look into the possibility of acquiring the show'' and that it could be a great fit for SABC3 which is already broadcasting The Oprah Winfrey Show. ''It would be great to have both the behind the scenes show as well as the final season of Oprah's daily talk show on SABC3 but it's still a way off, and we'll first have to see what the licencing possibilities would be,'' a source told me.
