Samsung TV Plus is adding a Trevor Noah channel to its FAST platform on Samsung Smart TVs but South Africans won't be able to access it since Samsung has so far failed to launch Samsung TV Plus in the country.
While Samsung Smart TVs come with Samsung TV Plus built-in as a FAST streaming service in comparable countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as Canada, Australia and New Zealand, consumers who buy a Samsung Smart TV in South Africa can't get Samsung TV Plus as an added service.
Meanwhile, Samsung South Africa is silent on when South Africa will get Samsung TV Plus, while LG Electronics runs its own LG Channels successfully in South Africa, and Hisense South Africa has VIDAA, TCL has TCL Channel, and even Xiaomi runs Ziaomi+ on their TV sets.
The new Trevor Noah channel on Samsung TV Plus carries more than 170 hours of Trevor Noah's comedy and podcast content, drawn from Trevor Noah's YouTube channel.
"Trevor Noah brings world-class comedy to Samsung TV Plus," says Chris Gregory, head of content development at Samsung TV Plus for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, noting that the addition "reflects the platform's strategy of bringing established creators to audiences on connected TVs".
