The Moja Love (DStv 157) TV channel's show Sizok'thola shot and killed a 45-year-old Nigerian man on Sunday during filming in the Windsor East suburb of Johannesburg.
Moja Love was asked for comment on Monday morning.
Moja Love's Nonzwakazi Cekete said the production company should be contacted.
Canal+'s MultiChoice was asked for comment on Monday morning, which will be added here when received.
Security guards involved with the controversial Sizok'thola, presented by Action SA Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate Xolani Khumalo, shot and killed the man during a raid.
Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, Gauteng SAPS spokesperson, says "A preliminary investigation showed that there was a production company filming in the area and that there were shots fired, allegedly by the production team's security".
"The said production team went to the police station when a group of people were starting to protest."
In late 2023, Moja Love said that the Siyaya-TV run channel would "pause production of Sizok'thola so that the channel can strengthen its procedures and authority to avoid any further unfortunate incidents or loss of lives".
That was after Moja Love ewas also engulfed in scandal through the same show and presenter after the death of an alleged drug dealer who died during the filming of an episode of Sizok'thola in Katlehong in July 2023.
