Coronavirus: Netlix announces updated parental controls for kids using the video streaming service.

Netflix has announced updated parental controls for kids viewing on the video streaming service.

Netflix says parents can now PIN protect individual profiles to prevent kids using them; tailor their kids' Netflix experience by filtering out titles that are not appropriate for their age, and that the streamer has built these filters using South Africa's country age restriction ratings so that they are more intuitive.

Netflix has made it possible to now remove individual series or films from a profile by title.

When this filter is used, the blocked title(s) won't show up anywhere in that specific profile.

It's now also possible to review each profile's setting using the "Profile and Parental Controls" hub within account settings.

Parents can also see what their kids have been watching within the profile created for them; and can also turn off auto-play of episodes in kids profiles.

Netflix says that everyone can now add these new, improved controls to their profile by going to account settings on their mobile or laptop.

"Choice and control have always been important for our members, especially parents. We hope that these additional controls will help parents make the right choices for their families," says Netflix.
