For the first time in its history, Carte Blanche on M-Net stays brand-new throughout the festive season with original pre-recorded episodes of the weekly investigative magazine show.

For the first time in its history, the weekly investigative magazine show Carte Blanche on M-Net (DStv 101) will continue broadcasting brand-new episodes during the end-of-the-year festive season, starting today.

Carte Blanche used to broadcast repackaged episodes on M-Net with highlights of the year's show over the doldrum mid-to-end-December, early-January period.

Now, for the first time in Carte Blanche history, the programme will be airing brand-new episodes for the festive season.

It does come with a Carte Blanche caveat: The Combined Artistic Productions team will not be live from the Randburg studios as is being done on a weekly basis, but have pre-recorded the new episodes featuring new topics, profiles and investigations.

Sunday's Carte Blanche episode on M-Net dives into the "real state of the nation", investigates witch hunts in South Africa, looks at the increasing mall theft during the holiday season and explores the making of vault 2120, a secure underground time capsule.
